Stepping out to promote her latest project, Abbie Cornish grabbed up the spotlight at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City on Friday night (April 20).
The lovely Aussie actress joined alongside director David Riker on the School of Visual Arts red carpet with the pair ushering in the premiere of their drama picture titled "The Girl".
In the film, Miss Cornish plays a young Texan mother who "smuggles immigrants across the border from Mexico. When things go wrong, she has to travel across Mexico with the titular eight year old orphan."
Of the role, Abbie recently told the Washington Post, "It totally rebirthed me as an actor. It felt like it was the first time again. In making the film, I felt like it was the best I had ever been as an actor in all regards — as an actor, as a collaborator, as a human being.”
With a newly released clip from the movie found below, "The Girl" also stars Will Patton, Luci Christian, Giovanna Zacarías and Raúl Castillo.
